What services do you offer?
I offer online multisensory instruction specifically tailored to students’ decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling and writing) needs. I systematically and cumulatively hone in on what students need to become successful readers and spellers, and work with them at a level that encourages them to make progress without frustration. Using multi-sensory methods such as movement, manipulatives, and games, I make tutoring sessions interactive and fun.
How long does it take to see progress?
Students with dyslexia and reading difficulties need the gift of time. Each student learns at their own pace. Some children may only need tutoring for 6 months to a year to reach grade-level in reading. Others are more impacted by dyslexia or have other co-occurring conditions such as ADHD, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia, and may take up to 3 years to become proficient readers. This can be frustrating for parents. There is no quick fix for dyslexia. Sometimes progress is slow, however, with time, patience, and individualized structured literacy instruction, children with dyslexia and other reading difficulties can be successful in reading, spelling, and writing. The investment you make now to help your child can be the difference between struggling academically and being a confident lifelong learner.
How long is each session, and what is your rate?
Research indicates that students with reading difficulties benefit from 2-3 sessions per week to learn new concepts and retain previously learned ones. I offer 55-minute online tutoring sessions. These sessions are focused and intensive, but contain a lot of variety and fun multi-sensory activities.
I charge $60 per session.
